Econ Illinois, formerly known as the Illinois Council on Economic Education, was founded in 1951 to help K-12 schools integrate the teaching of economics and personal finance across the curriculum at all grade levels.

Nancy Hanlon Harrison
Nancy joined Econ Illinois in 2001, has been actively involved in economic & entrepreneurship education throughout her career, and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards. She has designed and led professional development for educators since 1997 and has been involved in the establishment of both state and national standards for economics. Nancy has 14 years teaching at the intermediate level, and has been designing and teaching summer business institute programs at the senior high school level since 2002.
Nancy completed her undergraduate work in education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and holds an MA in Economics for Educators from the University of Delaware.
Pathways for a Future in Finance
Econ Illinois has been selected as the Lead Entity for the Finance Learning Exchange (FLE) for the state of Illinois. STEM Learning Exchanges are public-private partnerships creating more real-world experiences for students, enhancing college and career readiness.
