The elementary winners from St. Monica School had multiple experiences during their 24 hours in Chicago's financial district.

On their arrival day, they first visited the offices of Cabrera Capital Markets, LLC. Cynthia Lau, Econ Illinois Board of Trustees member and Cabrera's Vice President of Human Resources spoke with the students and introduced staff who discussed their specific job at Cabrera and asked about the St Monica team's investment strategy. Students learned the mission of Cabrera and how customers' accounts are managed. Students observed the desks of the traders, learning about the multi-tasking environment and necessity of checks-and-balances. They found it interesting that inspite of technology, there was need for a paper trail! Finally, an intern with Cabrera talked about his career goals and how the experience at Cabrera will help him after college. Martin Cabrera, president and founder of Cabrera Capital, is an Econ Illinois Governing Board member and past Stock Market Game student!
