Econ Illinois:
Teach Chicago Children to Save

Make a difference in the lives of Chicago Students!

Pending identified funding, Econ Illinois will provide classrooms in Chicago with a fun and valuable program called Teach Chicago Children to Save during the spring 2011 semester. This program links second grade classrooms with local volunteers who spend about 45 minutes in the classroom presenting a lesson based on a children's storybook and teaching about the importance of saving. Presentations will take place the second week of May, 2011.

Chicago second grade teachers can sign up their class to participate by completing an online teacher registration form (available October 1 - November 19, 2010.) The online registration allows for a volunteer to be matched with registered teachers. Volunteers have the option to present to a couple of classes at the same school during one morning visit. Teachers are encouraged to coordinate this opportunity with all of the second grade teachers in the school.
